How to compress photos
- Tap "Add photos" or drop them onto the box.
- Choose a target size, or set your own in KB.
- Tap Compress, then download each photo or all of them as a ZIP file.
Good to know
Many upload forms (job applications, visa and government portals, school registrations) reject photos over a set size such as 100 KB or 200 KB. This tool finds the best quality that fits under your target.
If a photo is far too big for the target, it is first scaled down to a sensible size, then compressed. The result is always a JPG.
Questions
What does KB mean?
KB (kilobytes) measures file size; 1,000 KB is about 1 MB. Photos straight from a phone camera are usually several thousand KB, so forms that ask for 100 KB need a big reduction.
Will my photo look worse?
Slightly, at very small targets. The tool keeps the highest quality that fits, and shows you the before and after sizes.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. They are compressed by your browser on your device.
