How to compress a photo to 200 KB
- Tap "Add photos" or drop your photos onto the box. 200 KB is already chosen.
- Tap "Compress".
- Download the photo, or all of them in one ZIP file.
Good to know
Each photo is tried at the best quality first. Quality, and if needed the size in pixels, is lowered only as far as it takes to get under 200 KB.
200 KB is enough for a clear photo that fills a phone screen, and small enough to send quickly.
We count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so the photo also fits forms that count 1 KB as 1,024 bytes. Need a different size? Choose "Other" and type it in.
Questions
Is 200 KB small enough for email?
Yes. Email providers allow attachments many times this size, and small photos send and open faster, especially on mobile data.
Can I compress several photos at once?
Yes, up to 4 at a time without an account, each up to 10 MB. Each one is made smaller than 200 KB, and you can download them together in one ZIP file.
Can I use iPhone photos?
Yes. iPhone (HEIC) photos are converted and saved as JPG.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your photos are compressed by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
