How to watermark a PDF

- Type the watermark text, or tap COPY, CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, SAMPLE or PAID.
- Choose where it goes, how strong and which colour, then tap "Add watermark" and download.
Good to know
A watermark shows that a document is a copy, a draft or confidential, which helps when you send ID copies, statements or contracts. Writing "COPY for bank account opening only" across an ID copy, for example, makes it harder to misuse.
The watermark is written onto each page so it can be seen in every PDF app and when printed, and it sits the right way up even on pages that are stored sideways.
Questions
Can I write my own words?
Yes. Type up to 60 characters, such as "COPY for bank account opening only". You can write in English and other European languages, Greek, Russian and other Cyrillic alphabets, Chinese (simplified), Hindi, Bengali, Arabic and Urdu: a matching font is downloaded when needed and built into your PDF.
Can someone remove the watermark?
Someone with PDF-editing software could remove it. For stronger protection, also add a password with Protect PDF.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The watermark is added by your browser on your device.
