How to compress a photo to 30 KB
- Tap "Add photos" or drop your photos onto the box. 30 KB is already chosen.
- Tap "Compress".
- Download the photo, or all of them in one ZIP file.
Good to know
Each photo is tried at the best quality first. Quality, and if needed the size in pixels, is lowered only as far as it takes to get under 30 KB.
At 30 KB a passport-style head-and-shoulders photo is still clear on screen. Larger photos are also made smaller in pixels to fit.
We count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so the photo also fits forms that count 1 KB as 1,024 bytes. Need a different size? Choose "Other" and type it in.
Questions
Which forms ask for photos under 30 KB?
Many online exam, job and admission forms set a small limit, often between 20 and 50 KB, sometimes with a minimum size too. Check both numbers on your form; this page makes the photo smaller than 30 KB.
Can I compress several photos at once?
Yes, up to 4 at a time without an account, each up to 10 MB. Each one is made smaller than 30 KB, and you can download them together in one ZIP file.
Can I use iPhone photos?
Yes. iPhone (HEIC) photos are converted and saved as JPG.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your photos are compressed by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
