Crop and rotate a photo

Turn a sideways photo the right way up, straighten it, and crop it to a square, 16:9 or any shape you like. The photo is saved at full size (up to 16 megapixels), and nothing is uploaded.

Your files are processed on this device. Nothing is uploaded, and once you’ve added your first file it keeps working in flight mode.

How to crop and rotate a photo

  1. Tap "Add a photo" or drop one onto the box.
  2. Rotate, flip or straighten it if you need to.
  3. Pick a shape, or drag the box and its corners to crop.
  4. Tap "Save photo" and download it.

Good to know

The photo is saved at full resolution, up to 16 megapixels; bigger photos are reduced slightly so every phone can save them. JPG, PNG and WebP photos keep their format; iPhone (HEIC) and other types are saved as JPG. Hidden details such as the location are left out of the saved copy.

Straightening enlarges the photo so the corners stay filled, the same way phone photo editors do it: a little for a small tilt, more for a big one.

Questions

Does cropping lower the quality?

The photo keeps its full resolution, up to 16 megapixels. Without straightening, a PNG photo keeps every pixel exactly; JPG and WebP photos are saved again at high quality.

Which shapes can I crop to?

Any shape you like, or the original shape, square, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, and 4:5, the portrait shape used on Instagram.

Can I use iPhone photos?

Yes. iPhone (HEIC) photos open here and are saved as JPG.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Your photo is edited by your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
